Tesla Coil

Here is the tesla coil. It is powered by a 12,000V 60ma neon sign transformer. The output voltage can exceed 1.5 million volts.

The video and pictures do not show the coil running at full power, if I turn it up too much, it messes up the video camera...

Here are some more pictures. In one of them the spark reaches the strike rail, in another you can see a thick spark climb the secondary coil. This is a bad thing...:

DON'T TRY TO MAKE ONE OF THESE YOURSELF UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH AND QUALIFIED TO USE HIGH VOLTAGES. A SHOCK FROM ONE OF THESE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE FATAL.
